My 2014: A Video Collection

My 2014: A Video Collection

Another year has come and gone! It’s hard to believe 2015 is merely hours away, and my 30s are nipping at my heels. This year, I decided to simplify my life and focus on things I really wanted to accomplish. I’m happy to say that 2014 was a productive and fulfilling year and I finally feel like my career is on the right track.

At the end of every year, I try to give you a little insight into my ambitious craziness sprinkled with some stellar advice. Looking back on 2014, I can say that the key to success and fulfillment is who you surround yourself with. I wouldn’t have accomplished as much in 2014 without the support of Woodshop Films and Scrapple.TV. It’s amazing what you can accomplish when you find your tribe and work together. I can’t even begin to tell you the awesome plans we have for 2015. (No, really–I can’t say much until a few weeks from now.)

Since 2014 was the year of video (for me) I figured I’d share with you a few of my favorite pieces. They’re a sampling from Scrapple.TV as well as my personal Vimeo account. This was an excellent year, and here are some excellent videos.

Creepy Basement
Creepy Basement continues to be a fun and rewarding show that I produce along with Johnny Zito for Scrapple.TV. I interviewed a ton of interesting characters this year. Ophidian the Cobra was one of those awesome people, and here’s his episode. I can’t wait to talk to more weirdos in 2015.

Scrapple.TV Takes on Wizard World 2014
I didn’t plan on attending the 2014 Wizard World convention, (I didn’t have a cosplay ready!) but when N.A. Poe asked me to tag along and get my nerd on for Scrapple.TV–I couldn’t say no. I love this video, because it showcases the wonderful misfits of Scrapple.TV– and it’s just hilarious. I hope the Scrapple.TV crew does more of these segments in 2015! Maybe in September? When the dude with the pointy hat comes to town?

Geek Awards Dress
Probably one of the biggest surprises of 2014 was the generosity that helped me create an awesome dress for the 2014 Philly Geek Awards. The dress not only looked great, thanks to Alexa O’Neill–it was fully funded by all of you! I’m still grateful, and I’m even more excited for 2015’s projects! I know I’ll have an amazing array of support from all of you.

My Brother Dominates Lake Placid’s IRONMAN
Everyone in my family has one or two screws loose. My brother is no exception. He loves to push his limits, and this year he completed his first IRONMAN at Lake Placid. I followed him around with my camera and created this short piece. It was seen by nearly 1,000 people–and I’m happy I was able to create something for him that he will look back on when he’s old and his hips have turned to dust.

The 2014 Philly Podcast Festival
Even though production of The Pincushion Podcast has slowed to a halt (sorry) I was still able to participate in this year’s Philly Podcast Festival at Tattooed Mom. I couldn’t resist bringing my Scrapple.TV peeps with me, so I recruited N.A. Poe and The Necrosexual to help make it weird. Music was provided by The Roddenberries which was awesome! I had so much fun. You can listen to the full episode here, or watch the killer highlights video:

2014 was certainly an awesome year–and I have the video to prove it! Thank you for following me along the way, and get ready for 2015. It’s going to be a good one.
