American Thanxorcist: From The Bottom of My Cold Black Heart

American Thanxorcist: From The Bottom of My Cold Black Heart

This past February, I was holed up in an office building with some of my closest friends conducting an artistic experiment. The result, an old skool scary flick we like to call American Exorcist.  I can’t even begin to describe this experience. I’ve worked in film and production since 2007, but I’ve never experienced anything like this project.

As a team, everyone went above and beyond to give this film the love and scare it deserved. Not only did we get principal photography done in the span of 3 weeks, but we got it done right. There was an electricity on set that I’ve never felt before. We knew how special this movie was going to be, so we took the time to really craft our shots, spill our blood and created something we’re all proud of.

For me, American Exorcist fulfilled so many creative ambitions in my life. As an actress, I was able to step into characters that pushed my physical and emotional limits. Johnny Zito and Tony Trov gave me the opportunity to explore a new aspect of acting (being my first feature film) and they didn’t simply limit my abilities to roles I’ve played before. I gave 110% in every take, and I had so much fun doing it.

I’ve worked on everything from Turtle Wax commercials to movies starring Makhi Phiefer, but there was something distinctly different about this production. We all brought our skills together and recruited some of the best people in Philadelphia, and worked with Bill Moseley–who brought the production to another level. I’m still reeling from the whole experience. I’m thankful for all of the things that I’ve learned over the past few years and the people who helped me stay in this business–because this project made all the film industry’s trials and stresses totally worth it.

We reached our Kickstarter goal on St. Patrick’s Day. We’ve always had a little more than luck on our side–but we sure do feel lucky right now. Life is great when you’re making movies with your friends. So, thank you for helping us. We can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on!

There is still time to donate! If you want to grab some sweet swag submit your pledge and get ready for an awesome horror flick.
