This is a special quarantine episode of Apocalypse…Now? Since we are constantly inundated with COVID-19 information–I wanted to switch gears a bit. About a year ago, I had the cast of Mezza Morta together to do a read-through of the first season of The Mezza Morta Web Series. I only live-streamed the first episode, but I recorded the entire thing.
After the read-through, my anxiety kicked in, and I subconsciously buried the recording in my office. I haven’t listened to that recording.
Since, you know, time doesn’t exist and our responsibilities are nonexistent– I had time to sit down and listen to it. Did it make me cringe? Sure, but I knew you’d want to hear it. People are always asking me what happens to Mezza Morta next, and I’ve held the plot close to my chest. A habit I’m learning to let go of.
Right now, we don’t know when we will see our friends and family IRL again. So, I have no idea when Mezza Morta will be brought to life, and I figured sharing the read-through with you will help satiate my storytelling desire. I wanted to use this episode as a way to broadcast a piece of the Mezza Morta puzzle, and give you something weird and entertaining to listen to.
